Henry's blessing day was on Sunday, November 30, 2008, our last Sunday in the Philippines. We felt impressed that Henry should be blessed in the Philippines even though we were going home the next week.
The blessing was a special and spiritual event for the family. I offered the blessing and was joined in the circle by Bishop Erwin Abanggon, President Edmarc Dumas, and Brother Peter Mathews.
His name was given, Henry Truex Ottley. Henry was blessed:
- to be an example to his family and friends
- to follow the example of his older siblings and parents
- to live the fulness of the gospel while on this earth
- to have a strong body and health and strength
- to love his mother and stay close by her
- to serve in the Priesthood including a mission
- to remember where he came from, that he is a child of God
- to remember where he was born, in the Philippines, and to remember the love and compassion that these children of God showed to him and his family.
This day was a special day for all of us. We love our little Filipino baby and are so glad that God has granted us the privelegde to be with him on this Earth.

That's neat that you were able to bless Henry in the Phillippines. I am sure that he'll always have a special place in his heart for there and the Filipino people!
