Dad's Visit!

We were so excited to see Grandpa here at our home! My Dad came to Cebu with his associate, David Hall, to see how construction of the Cebu Temple was progressing. We were so thankful they were able to spend Saturday afternoon with us!

Dad spoiled us with lots of goodies from the States (thanks Grandma, too!), read the kids stories, helped move the chicken coop, and ordained Rich as a high priest in the Melchizedek priesthood in the evening, a very special event! Our stake president joined us for the ordination. It was a special end to a special day!

We bought Lechon Manok for dinner (our favorite - rotisserie chickens with a special sauce they make here) and I made two desserts, chocolate cream pie and yellow cake with pudding, cream, and mango. Unfortunately, I didn't taste the dessert until after Dad and Brother Hall left. The "refined" sugar here is not so refined, more like sea salt! So the cream and graham cracker crust were pretty gritty. Sorry Dad(!), but thank you so much for making our day (and month!) by being our first - and hopefully not last - family member to visit!

It's hard to believe you're almost 7 months pregnant, Jill! Does time fly by faster in the Philipines?

Time HAS gone by fast. I do feel big already, and I get lots of friendly comments at church about how big I am for 6 months! I think by now my stomach just knows the routine!

How nice to see the pictures! Jill is beautiful, as always; and Rich appears to have been losing weight. Way to go! Hope it wasn't all dengue related. Rich, did you have the itching of the palms of the hands and the bottoms of the feet as a part of your dengue fever? For me, that was almost the worst part of the whole ordeal! Anyway, hope you're all better and that no one else gets it!

Love,
Mom D.

Jill, you are beautiful. I am so impressed with your blog. It is so great to see pics of you and your Dad. I love how your blog is so different than everyone else! Living in the Philipines must be so exciting. Good luck with your last 2 months!
