. . . But it is actually the set-up to the Jonah thumb sucking hold. We have been trying to get Jonah to stop sucking his thumb telling him that he will get sick if he does - which is true as things aren't as sanitary here. However, we just haven't had much follow through due to the fact that Jonah is out of his element with the move, and the thumb sucking brings him so much comfort. Notice how he locks his pinky finger in the other hand. The Jonah hold is a two hand manuveur.
Another Jonah Funny: When we moved to our new house we were stuck outside our compound (gated community - they call them compounds here) because our real estate agent was late (this seems to be the trend - at least 30 minutes) and the security is very tight here. So Jonah and I were sitting on the curb outside the front gate and he began asking me some questions.
"Where's Mommy?" Jonah asked.
"In the van with all our stuff." I responded.
"Where's Cyrus?" Jonah asked again.
"In the van with Mommy. I responded a bit sharply.
"Where is Brown Guy? Jonah asked very interested.
At this point I couldn't stop laughing, but responded, "In the van waiting with Mommy."
The "Brown Guy" is the manager of the hotel/resort that we stayed at. He took very good care of us and wanted to personally take us to our new place in the hotel van. Out of the mouth of babes, Jonah said it how it is. Victor, the manager, is Filipino and Filipinos are brown. Jonah named him the "Brown Guy."
