Ashton the swimmer
Ashton has become an amazing swimmer here! At first he was hesitant to swim anywhere but the shallow end. Now he roams the pool freely, explores the pool bottom with his goggles, dives, and new this week … he can dive down to the deepest part of the pool and pick up a rock off the bottom! It has been so fun to watch!
Ashton is also doing a great job at reading new words. I’ve come to appreciate all the words written on the packaging of the foods we eat because that’s usually what he sounds out and reads. According to him, he likes to write more than he likes to read. He wrote and illustrated a whole little book this week. Here are the words:
A BOY iS WOCKeen TO A PARDee ThAWT AVE HiZ I Hee SODiD A LEPKON THe BOY SED O my GOSH YOU Ar U LEPKON THe LEPKON SED KOm KOM I nO WEr A POT AVe GOLDD AnD A BUTFLe REBOe BUT THe DRAgin is GODee iF YUO WOT TO GiT THe GOLDD YUO HAV A GiV Him U PIS UV CACe AnD A HAT
Translation:
A boy is walking to a party and thought he spotted a leprechaun. The boy said, “Oh my gosh, you are a leprechaun!” The leprechaun said, “Come, come, I know where a pot of gold and a beautiful rainbow, but the dragon is guarding. If you want to get the gold, you have to give him a piece of cake and a hat.” (I thought his guess of "lepkon" was pretty good, I certainly couldn't spell it without spellcheck!)

I love little kids' phonetic spelling. It's so smart. Great story, Ashton!
I didn't scroll down far enough to realize that you had translated the story. Turns out a didn't really need it. Ashton speaks for himself. It's amazing how candy is the answer for so many things.
